HIPPOCRATES member Heidi Bertheussen presented HPOS at the EULAR 2024 PARE Conference

Our patient research partner (PRP) Heidi from GRAPPA EU presented a poster on the HIPPOCRATES Prospective Observational Study (HPOS).

The EULAR PARE Conference is an annual educational and networking event featuring a different topic each year and offering a high-quality programme for the RMD community with keynote speakers, debates and workshops spanning three days. Running from 28-30 November in Brussels, the topic of this year’s conference was: Foster the Future of expanded PRP involvement in Rheumatology Research and this year’s meeting focussed on the role of patients and patient representatives in rheumatology research.

The participants involved the broad European RMD patient community represented by representatives of RMD patient organisations in each country (presidents, communication officers, etc.) but also the EULAR network of PRPs, researchers and health professionals, especially those involved in patient involvement in research.

Patients and patient representatives from around the world presented almost 50 posters showcasing their work. Heidi presented the HPOS poster “Determining risk factors for developing Psoriatic Arthritis (PsA) in Psoriasis patients across Europe - HIPPOCRATES Prospective Observational Study (HPOS): co-designed with patient representatives, a web-based cohort study”.

A huge ‘Thank you’ to Heidi and all our PRPs for spreading the word about HIPPOCRATES including the HPOS study, but also to the organisers and participants for this great opportunity and discussion on how to make collaborative research the standard approach and how to work with research consortia.
